Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and looking for recommendations for a stable distro for my Acer Aspire 5 laptop. I'm considering Endeavour OS but not sure if it's a good fit for a beginner. What do you think?

Consider Debian if stability is your main concern—it's one of the most reliable out there. Just know that it might require a bit more setup initially, but it's worth it for the stability. Also, think about what you plan on doing with your laptop to help narrow down your options!

That's a solid point! Understanding your use case can definitely guide your choice better.

If you're curious, you might also want to check out Zorin or Ubuntu. They are both user-friendly and have plenty of online resources to help you out. Just remember, it's okay to try a few before settling on one!

Honestly, just pick one that looks appealing and give it a go! You can always switch later if you don’t like it. Most distros are pretty good these days, so you won't lose much experimenting.

Linux Mint is often praised as the best beginner-friendly distro. It’s easy to use and has a lot of community support, making it a solid choice for newcomers. If you're just starting out, it might be your best bet!

Definitely agree! Mint is just so straightforward.

Endeavour OS is great, but it’s more suited for those who are a bit more experienced with Linux. Since you want something stable, I'd recommend sticking with non-rolling releases like Mint or Zorin. They’re generally more reliable for daily use and will save you a world of potential troubleshooting headaches.
