Need Help Choosing a PC for My Girlfriend Under $1K

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get a PC for my girlfriend's first computer. She's looking to keep it under $1,000 and primarily plays indie games, as well as some AAA titles like Spider-Man and Call of Duty. We're also thinking about diving into some MMOs together. I'll be building my own PC as well, but her budget is a bit tighter.

I've found two options on Facebook Marketplace:

**First PC - $1,000**:
- XFX Swift OC Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB Video Card
- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X 3.9 GHz 6-Core Processor
- ASRock A620I LIGHTNING WIFI Mini ITX AM5 Motherboard
- Silicon Power XPOWER Storm RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 Memory
- Silicon Power UD90 1 TB NVME Solid State Drive
- Thermalright AQUA ELITE ARGB V4 240MM AIO Cooler
- Thermaltake The Tower 200 Mini ITX Case
- PowerSpec PS 650BSM 650 W Power Supply

**Second PC - $980**:
- Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB GPU
- Intel i5 14400F - 10 Core 16 Thread CPU
- 32 GB 3600 MT/s G Skill RGB RAM
- 1TB SSD Gen 4
- 750w Corsair PSU
- Windows 11 Home pre-installed
- Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the motherboard

I'm also open to building something from Microcenter if we can keep it around $1,000. Apologies for the hasty formatting; I typed this out on my phone at work. Thanks for any suggestions!

I definitely recommend the first PC! It's got a solid Ryzen CPU and a decent video card for gaming. Just keep in mind to swap the PSU for a more reliable one down the line if you can. Overall it's a great choice for your girlfriend's first PC.

Good call! The setup looks solid for the price.

The first PC is a good option, but just be careful with the motherboard and RAM choice. The AMD setup has great potential, yet the performance can be held back by slower RAM. If you're looking for something versatile, the Nvidia build might be better, especially for tasks like streaming or editing, but price-wise it's just slightly below your budget.

Thanks for the insight! I'll check out those specs more closely.

Just a heads up about Facebook Marketplace: always test the hardware before buying. Make sure everything runs smoothly—I've heard too many horror stories!

Yeah, I only trust a couple of sellers in my area, so I'll be cautious!
