Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building my PC for work and want to do some light gaming too. I'm looking specifically at Ryzen 5 options but can't decide which one to go for. Right now, I'm considering the Ryzen 5 7600, Ryzen 5 8600G, and Ryzen 5 9600X. As a developer, I'm thinking of starting without a dedicated GPU for now. I don't play heavy games—barely touch them—but I plan to upgrade with a good graphics card later. My main priority is to pick the right CPU that will let me easily upgrade to Ryzen 7 or 9 down the line, hence my interest in AM5. My dilemma is whether to go for the 8600G with decent integrated graphics, the 7600 which I could potentially overclock (though it has less L3 cache), or just jump straight to the 9600X. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What's your budget looking like? That might help narrow it down a bit more, you know?
If you can wait, the 9600X3D is a good option to consider!
The choice between the 7600 and the 9600X really comes down to price. I wouldn't spend more than $20 extra on the 9600X, honestly. For the 8600G, I'd say it depends on what you want. The 7600 can handle gaming, but it's not the best experience. If I were you, I’d grab the 7600 and then add a cheap GPU later, like a GTX 1060 or something in that range for around $50. It'll be way better than the integrated graphics in the 8600G and help you save for a proper upgrade.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into those GPU options.
Totally agree with you on that one!
