Need Help Choosing Components for My First PC Build

I'm embarking on my first PC build and want to get the best bang for my buck. I've researched a bit and landed on the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and the 9800X3D as they seem to be a great match for performance and longevity. I think I've selected suitable options for the motherboard, RAM, PSU, and storage, but I'm open to suggestions. My main uncertainty lies with the case and CPU cooler—any guidance to help me avoid compatibility issues would be greatly appreciated! Also, do you think I've gone overboard with my choices?

Your build is looking good! If you're open to suggestions, I recommend considering an AIO cooler for the 9800X3D. While the Peerless Assassin works fine, an AIO could be better if you’re thinking about overclocking. You can also find great PSUs for around $80-$100. With the money you save, you could invest in an AIO cooler for quieter operation. If you want, there are also stylish cases from Thermaltake around $70-$100 that would look fantastic!

Thanks for that advice! Is liquid cooling really better than air cooling? I heard it can be risky.

I swapped a few components in your list for more budget-friendly options and found you a better motherboard without sacrificing quality. Check this out!

Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin - €49.85
Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX - €253.99
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL36 - €129.90
Storage: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4 TB - €235.00
Video Card: Asus PRIME OC GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - €799.00
Case: Lian Li LANCOOL 217 - €119.90
PSU: Montech CENTURY II 850W - €109.90

Total: €2136.54

Thanks, that really helps! I didn’t think about swapping components like that.

The RAM you've picked might be a bit slow, but for gaming, it shouldn't be a major issue. Just be mindful of current RAM prices. The rest of your build looks solid overall!

Appreciate the input! What RAM would you recommend instead? I'm also looking to do some work on this PC, like basic video editing.
