Need Help Choosing Parts for a High-End PC Build

Hey everyone! A friend of mine wants me to help him build a high-end PC capable of running games and applications at the highest graphical settings. I've mostly built low to mid-range PCs before, so I'm a bit out of my depth here. Could you all offer advice on which parts to choose? I want to make sure I don't end up with components that are either overpriced or underperforming.

Two key factors for your build: budget and monitor preferences. Since you'll want the build to cater to the monitor specs, AMD GPUs usually offer great value for gaming. Nvidia is better on tech, but it might not be fully utilized for gaming purposes.

Make sure your cooler fits the case! I suggest getting a 360mm liquid cooler if the 280mm is too wide to top mount. You could also consider a Zotac Solid Core or Core OC GPU for a nice aesthetic, especially with an Asus Proart x870e motherboard. Avoid the 5080 since it's known to have issues. And check out some cool themed builds for inspiration!

Thanks for the tips! By the way, is liquid cooling worth it over air fans for performance?

Yeah, it often provides better cooling for high-end builds, but good air coolers can also work well if budget is tight.

I'd recommend starting with an RTX 5090 along with either an AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d or 9950x3d. You can build the rest of the components around these options for a powerful setup.

If your budget is around 1500 - 2000 euros, aim for a 2k 165Hz monitor for the best experience.
