Need Help Choosing Parts for My Son’s Gaming PC

Hey everyone! I'm totally out of my depth here and need some advice. My son wants to upgrade his PC as a Christmas and birthday present, and I'm looking for recommendations on a motherboard, RAM, and CPU. Here are the parts he's interested in: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi gaming motherboard, some Crucial RAM, and an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F. What do you all think? Are these good choices? I'm also concerned about getting good value for money and whether they'll be durable enough to last a few years. My son likes to tinker, so I want to make sure everything is suitable for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The parts you've listed will technically work together, but they might not be the best match for performance and efficiency. Before diving into specifics, what's your budget?

I'm looking to keep it around $850 AUD if possible, but I'm not sure if that's realistic.
