Need Help Choosing PC Parts for a Budget Gaming Setup

I'm looking to build a budget PC for my partner who just got a new desk. They want something that can handle light gaming and Discord calls. My budget is around $500, and I'm considering using 16GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, but I've also got 32GB of RAM sitting unused that I can include. What GPU and CPU (AM4) would you recommend? Should I go the DIY route or is it better to buy a prebuilt system?

Yeah, RAM prices have skyrocketed lately, and it can take up a big chunk of your budget. You might want to think about saving an extra $500 to bump your budget to $1,000. This way, you'll have more options for a solid build.

With your budget, I would suggest checking out some used builds featuring Ryzen 3000 series or Intel 10th/11th gen CPUs. Buying new parts at that price range might not be worth it right now. Good news is you already have 32GB of RAM to throw in, which saves you some cash!

Honestly, $500 is pretty tight for a build like that. You might want to look into buying used parts to stretch your budget. If you're going new, I found a decent parts list that can fit within your budget here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qRWVJn](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qRWVJn). Also, keep in mind that a 2TB SSD might be pushing it within that price range.
