Need Help Choosing the Right Linux Distro for My New PC Setup

Hey everyone! I just built a new PC and I'm looking to ditch Windows 11 because of all the AI stuff and privacy concerns. I'm interested in trying Linux instead, but I'm overwhelmed by the number of distros available, each with its own pros and cons. I've heard people recommend Fedora and Kubuntu, but I've seen some mention recent issues with stability and frequent updates. I found Debian 13, which seems nice, but I'm worried about driver support since it looks like it won't work for my setup for a couple of years. Here are my specs: AMD 9950X CPU and Nvidia RTX 5070Ti GPU. I need the distro to handle 4K video editing (I'm planning to use WinBoat, either Premiere or DaVinci), and while gaming isn't a top priority, it would be awesome if it could run a few Steam games too. I'm just trying to figure out which distro can effectively support my hardware needs for both editing and gaming. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I use an Nvidia RTX 5070 and Ubuntu works great for me. It's a solid choice that has good support for Nvidia drivers.

Driver compatibility is crucial, so I wouldn't recommend Debian or its derivatives for your setup. Opt for Fedora and install the Nvidia proprietary drivers—should work just fine for your CPU as well!

But what's the deal with PikaOS or DraugerOS? Any thoughts on those?

Consider going for Ubuntu LTS or Kubuntu LTS for stable support. If your hardware is a bit newer, check out version 25.10 and then switch to LTS when 26.04.1 drops.
