Need Help: CPU Is Underperforming and Crashing During Cinebench Tests

I recently built a PC for my mom as a Christmas gift, and while it runs fine for everyday tasks, it's struggling with benchmarks. Here's the setup: an Asrock b760M pro motherboard, an Intel i5-14600K CPU, 32GB of Crucial Pro DDR5 6400 RAM, three WD Black 1TB SN7100 SSDs, a Vetroo 850 SFX PSU, and a Thermalright Assassin X 90 SE V2 cooler (no GPU since she just needs integrated graphics).

The problem arises when I try to run Cinebench 2024. Windows crashes about 5-8 minutes into the benchmark, and the CPU doesn't seem to be pushing itself hard enough. I've fiddled with the BIOS settings, switching power delivery modes, but it hasn't helped: switching to 'Performance' crashes Windows, and 'Baseline' causes Cinebench to freeze. I've attempted to limit the current draw settings to stabilize it, but even with adjustments, it crashed during tests.

Ultimately, I got a Cinebench score of 1311 after reverting some settings, but I'm concerned about stability and whether I'm getting close to the expected performance of around 1388. Is this an issue with the motherboard's power delivery, or could it be a BIOS setting? Any advice would be appreciated!

That cooler looks a bit small for such a powerful CPU. What kind of temps are you seeing during the tests? It's also worth asking— is the PC functioning fine for what your mom actually uses it for, or is the benchmark the only issue?

It sounds like your issues could stem from either temps or maybe the PSU is giving out. If the motherboard is struggling with power delivery to the CPU, that could also result in crashes. But honestly, if it's just for basic use, you might consider a mini PC instead; they could be simpler for your mom's needs.
