Need Help Optimizing My New Gaming PC Setup

Hey everyone! I just got a new gaming PC and monitor for my teenager. While I've managed to set up the PC, I feel like it's not performing as well as it should be, and I might need to adjust some settings. I'm facing a few minor issues, but I really don't know where to start. Any tech-savvy folks out there who can lend a hand? Just to give you a heads-up, I've only used Macs for the past 25 years, so my PC knowledge is pretty limited.

First off, make sure your display cable is plugged into your GPU (graphics card) instead of the CPU. It’s also important to check that all your drivers are up to date. If the PC you bought is a prebuilt one with Windows already installed, consider reinstalling Windows and then downloading all the necessary drivers again. That should help!

Thanks for the tip! I’ve got everything connected to the GPU and I'm using a DisplayPort cable. However, I’m struggling to get the monitor to work with the HDR setting and I can't seem to download the NVIDIA app. Any suggestions?

Knowing the specifics of your hardware can help a lot! What's your CPU, GPU, and memory setup? That information might give everyone a clearer picture of the situation.

Sure! I have an iBUYPOWER Y40 Gaming Desktop with an Intel Core i7 14700F, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (12GB), 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. The monitor is an Acer Nitro KGB271U, which is a 27" WQHD IPS up to 200Hz with HDR10 support (using DisplayPort or HDMI).
