Hey everyone! I just upgraded my GPU from a 3060 to a 4070 Ti Super, but I'm stuck because the only PCIe cable I have for my Corsair RM850 is a pigtail. I've read that using both heads of a pigtail with the 12vhpwr adapter isn't recommended, and since I can't find any other cables right now, I'm back to using my old GPU while the new one just sits in the box.
What are my options here? Is it really that risky to use the pigtail? I'm considering picking up a PCIe Cable Type 4 from a local marketplace, but I'm worried about mixing cables from different PSUs. Would my best bet be to find a Corsair distributor here in the Philippines for a proper cable, or should I order one online? At one point, I even thought about getting a whole new RM850 just for the right cable! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you're gonna buy a new cable, skip the adapter and go for a PCIe to 12vhpwr cable. It should be easy to find either locally or online. Just make sure it’s the right type, as you definitely want two separate cables for that adapter.
[Here's a link to the kind I'd suggest.](https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920284/600w-pcie-5-0-12v-2x6-type-4-psu-power-cable-cp-8920284)
Corsair does sell individual cables, so that could be your safest bet. You won't run into the risks that come with mixing other brands or types. Just focus on finding the right cable compatible with your PSU!
Honestly, avoid using the pigtail if you can help it. Just buy the cables you need to ensure everything works safely and properly. It’s not worth the risk!
I've heard mixed things about pinouts varying even across the same brand’s cables. But from what I understand, Corsair generally maintains consistency, so if you order a new one directly from them that’s rated for your PSU, you should be alright without any risks.
I'd recommend ordering a cable directly from Corsair to avoid any potential issues. You can still lite game using the pigtail while you wait for the new one to arrive.
Yeah, most cables from Corsair share the same pinouts, so I wouldn’t worry too much if you get a new one from them. Just make sure you double-check compatibility!
