Need Help Troubleshooting My Custom PC GPU Issues

I've recently bought my first custom-built gaming desktop and I'm having a lot of trouble with the GPU. The specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, 32GB DDR5 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, and a 2TB SSD, all packed in an NZXT H7 Flow case. I got it for a great price of $750 from an eBay seller who claimed the GPU was outdated. The packaging was top-notch, so I don't think shipping was an issue. However, I've been experiencing a series of problems with booting up and display. Sometimes it freezes at boot, and I see a light sequence on the motherboard that seems to indicate issues—especially the VGA white light. I contacted the seller, who suggested reseating the GPU, which I did. It worked temporarily, but I noticed the latch on the GPU slot was broken, which explains the persistent connection issues. After multiple reseats, it sometimes works but gives me a slow performance or even loses Bluetooth connection. My main concern is whether this is a failing GPU, a motherboard issue, or if I should just invest in a new GPU. What should I do?

Based on what you described, it does sound like a GPU issue with the broken latch not helping matters. It’s good to hear it’s working now, but it might fail again. If you’re considering getting a new GPU, it could be worth it to see if a new one resolves your issues. Just keep in mind that if the motherboard has damage, that could also be a problem.

I wouldn’t trust buying PCs off eBay. If the seller didn’t give you a warranty, that's a red flag. It could also be a power supply issue—mine was acting up because the PSU wasn’t stable. I switched to a 1000W unit and barely had problems since. When I plugged into an extension cord, the GPU behaved strangely, but directly into the wall it was fine.
