Hey everyone! I'm planning to attend AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas this year, but I'm traveling with my 5-month-old baby. Since my baby is exclusively breastfed, I've run into a bit of a challenge: while the venue has lactation rooms, they don't allow me to bring my baby in there, and infants aren't permitted in the event space at all, even in a carrier. I'm wondering if anyone has experience arranging childcare for this event so I can still attend the sessions. Any advice or recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks!

I haven't done it myself, but bringing someone along might be way easier than finding a local sitter you don’t know. It could help with the baby while you’re at the event!
Five months is pretty young for all this. When we traveled to a wedding at Disney, we found local babysitting services to help out. Maybe check with your hotel; they might have some recommendations for you.
Have you thought about why you’re so eager to go? This year might be better spent online rather than navigating Vegas with a little one. It can be tricky for such a tiny baby in that environment!
I get where you're coming from, but honestly, is it worth the trouble? Conferences often post the sessions online afterward, so you might be better off watching from home. Plus, leaving your baby with a stranger can be nerve-wracking. Unless you really just want to party in Vegas or meet people, maybe this year isn't the best time to go.
Absolutely! I feel the same way.
That’s exactly what I’m thinking, actually! I'm covering my mom's ticket since she doesn't want to come to Vegas!
