Hey everyone! I'm looking for assistance in building my first gaming PC, and I'm based in Canada. With my budget around 3000 CAD, I know that component availability and pricing can be a bit tricky in 2026, so I'd really appreciate any advice. I have to admit, I don't know much about PC hardware and I'm hoping to avoid getting too deep into the technical specifics right now.
What I'm seeking is a solid, balanced build from people who really know what they're talking about, rather than overthinking every little detail myself. If anyone is willing to share:
- A complete build recommendation given my constraints with explanations for your choices, or
- Links to pre-made builds or resources that align with what I'm looking for,
I'd be really grateful!
Here's what I know about my needs:
- **Budget:** Preferably under 3000 CAD (but flexible to some degree).
- **Use Case:** Gaming. I currently only have a Mac and a PlayStation 5 and feel like I'm missing out on some great PC-exclusive and early access games (like *Deadlock*). I want to play graphically demanding games and prioritize good frame rates.
- I already have a decent monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- I'm looking for something that will last several years without necessarily going for the most high-end parts.
**My Priorities:**
- A strong GPU and CPU.
- A reasonable amount of RAM.
- Overall balance, good thermals, and reliability.
**Aesthetic Preferences:**
- No visible RGB (preferably hidden).
- A clean, minimalist case that doesn't scream 'nightclub'. This PC will be in my bedroom, so I'd like it to look subtle.
Thanks a ton for your time and help!

Honestly, now might not be the best time to buy a full system considering the prices. If you can, it might be worth waiting until things settle down. Alternatively, for a quick gaming fix, you could get an OLED Steam Deck and save the rest of your budget for when prices drop.
Do you really think prices are going to drop soon?
With your budget, you could definitely assemble a solid gaming PC! You should look at getting a Ryzen 9800x3d paired with a 9060 or 9070. Toss in a 2 TB SSD and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, and you’ll be in great shape for gaming!
For personalized build advice, it might be helpful to visit some dedicated PC building forums. They can give you tailored recommendations and support based on current market prices!
Thanks for the tip! I'll check those out.

That's a good suggestion! I might consider that as a temporary solution. Thanks!
