I recently upgraded my PC with four Lian Li Uni Fan SL Wireless fans. I installed three of them, but I'm still waiting for the fourth to arrive. I daisy-chained the fans vertically as intakes, but they seem to be running at full throttle all the time. I've done some research, and it looks like the issue might be with the data cable connecting my case controller (Nox Hummer Astra) to my motherboard (Asus Prime Z790). I also got a suggestion that I'd need a specific Lian Li controller for proper performance. Is that true? I really wanted to improve my PC without spending too much since this is my first upgrade after buying it second-hand. I even tried to attach some pictures, but I couldn't figure out how to do that.

You're right about the Lian Li SL Wireless fans; they need the L-Connect Wireless controller to function properly. If you bought a three-pack, the controller typically comes with it, and it looks somewhat like a long USB drive. If you got them individually, that might be the problem! Without the controller, you won’t be able to manage the fan speeds, which is why they're always at full speed.
I've started using fans from Asiahorse and Thermaltake instead; they tend to be more reasonably priced and seem to work well. You might want to consider them if you're looking for alternatives!
One thing to try is plugging the three daisy-chained fans directly into your motherboard’s PWM fan headers, bypassing the case controller. That might help control their speeds better without needing the specific controller. Sometimes case controllers can be a bit outdated or just not compatible.
