Need Help with RAM Instability Issues on My Build

I've been dealing with some major RAM stability issues over the last two months. I built my PC using four Corsair Vengeance 16GB sticks, paired with an MSI MPG X870E Edge TI WiFi motherboard, a 7950x3d CPU, and a 5090 GPU. Every time I run Memtest, I encounter constant failures in test 8. The first run gave me a whopping 588 failures, and after I adjusted the RAM speed from 6000 to 5200, I still faced issues, though fewer failures—just 2 this time. I even went down to two sticks, which improved the situation, but I caught the tech bug and decided to try a different motherboard and CPU. Unfortunately, the problems persisted with the same Memtest failures in test 8. I've ruled out the motherboard since I've tried multiple new ones, and I've tested each RAM stick individually, so they seem fine. I'm starting to wonder if it's just too much to expect stability with all four sticks on an AMD board. Any ideas?

Quick question: Are all your RAM sticks from the same kit? Mixing sticks can lead to issues. Also, how did you set your speeds and latencies? Reducing to 5200 is good, but you could encounter issues above certain speeds.

Yes, all sticks are from the same kit, and while I've tried multiple speeds, 5200 seemed the most stable. But still, you're right—zero errors is the goal!

Have you tried boosting the voltage a bit? I ran into similar issues until I increased the voltage for my RAM. Sometimes just that little extra boost can help achieve stability. Also, enabling XMP can make a difference, but sometimes you need to tweak things further.

Interesting question! Just to clarify, are your RAM kits from different sets? Using four sticks of DDR5 can be a gamble. If you’re into tweaking, try to adjust the VDDQ and VDDIO voltage settings to around 1.35V while keeping the VDD at 1.4V. Also, make sure your BIOS is updated—you might find it helps with managing multiple DIMMs.

Got it, I'll check out those voltage adjustments. Thanks for the tips!

Sounds like you're really in the weeds with this issue! Running four sticks of DDR5 can be tricky, especially with AMD. Many users have found that compatibility and stability tend to drop with more than two sticks. It's not just you—this configuration often leads to problems, even with Intel boards. You might want to consider sticking with two sticks for stability if possible.

Yeah, I was hoping for a fix, but it looks like I'll have to settle for less RAM capacity for now. Thanks for the insight!
