I'm setting up a shared folder on a homemade NAS using an old PC I bought on eBay. After configuring the storage pool, I found that when I try to access the shared folder from my main computer, it's asking for my NAS credentials. The issue is that I have Windows Hello enabled, which means I only have a PIN set for my NAS, not a regular password. I attempted to disable the setting that requires Windows Hello for Microsoft accounts on this device, but every time I turn it off, it automatically reverts to the enabled state when I reopen the settings. I've also noticed that I can't delete my PIN since the option is greyed out. I tried using the Local Group Policy Editor and disabled Windows Hello for Business, but nothing worked. I'm considering using a local account instead, but I was prompted to create a backup/recovery key when I tried that. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

It sounds like you're having a frustrating time with this setup! Remember that file sharing usually uses SMB, which doesn't rely on Windows Hello. You might want to try logging in with a local account instead of your Microsoft account. This should bypass the Windows Hello requirement for your NAS access.
You're right, but I still get a prompt for network credentials when I try to map the network drive. It's asking me to enter my NAS computer credentials, and I'm not sure what to do at that point.
