Hi all! I'm Mario and I recently built a high-end gaming PC featuring an RTX 4090, but I've been experiencing occasional stutters while gaming since June 2023. I've spent the last eight months troubleshooting, trying both hardware and software solutions, but the problem persists. A friend with an RTX 4070 helped me narrow down the issue, and we noticed that my GPU stutters in certain scenarios where his performs perfectly at the same settings and FPS. I even sent my GPU for RMA, and while they replaced a mechanical part, the stuttering remains. I'm hoping to find out if this is a common issue or if there's something wrong with my setup. Here are my PC specs:

- MOBO: Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX
- CPU: Intel Core i9-13900K
- RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 6200MHz C36 - 32GB
- GPU: Asus GeForce RTX 4090 ROG Strix O24G White
- Storage: Corsair Force MP600 PRO NH NVMe SSD
- AIO: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - 360 mm
- PSU: Corsair RM1200x SHIFT, 80 Plus Gold, 1.200 Watt
- Case: HYTE Y60
- Contact frame: Thermal Grizzly Contact Frame CPU Intel 13th Gen

I primarily game at 1440p on an Asus ROG PG279 monitor and use a 3000VA UPS. Any insight or advice would be appreciated! Thanks for reading, and sorry for any language mistakes since I'm still learning English.

It sounds like you've tried a lot already! Just a heads up, have you checked using two monitors with different refresh rates? I had stuttering issues with my 4090 which was fixed by plugging my second monitor into the integrated GPU. Also, keep an eye on CPU temperatures; if they're too high, it might be triggering thermal throttling.

Long shot, but check if you have any background tasks that could be using system resources, like a Windows slideshow for your wallpaper. That can sometimes cause unexpected stutters. Lastly, it’s worth looking into your GPU's power supply – make sure everything is firmly connected.

You might want to check for any errors in Event Viewer, specifically WHEA errors, which could indicate hardware issues. Also, consider running diagnostics on your CPU and RAM to rule out degradation or instability. If all else fails, dialing back your RAM timings might help smoothen things out.

Your situation sounds pretty frustrating! From what I've seen, stutters can sometimes be attributed to shader compilation issues, especially in titles like The Last of Us Part I. Have you tried recompiling the shaders? You might also want to check your CPU load during these stuttering moments to see if it’s being pushed too hard.

First thing to check is your RAM settings in the BIOS. Make sure it's running in EXPO mode instead of default. With a powerful setup like yours, you shouldn't have issues at 1440p. It's crucial to ensure the RAM is optimized for performance.
