I'm attempting to reformat my PC, but every time I reach the screen asking for the Windows activation key, my computer just restarts. This is incredibly frustrating because I can't find any information online on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions?

Are you installing from a USB drive or trying to reset Windows? That could make a difference.
Just to clarify, there shouldn't be a login screen when you're reformatting the drive, so maybe something else is going on.
