PC Shutting Down During Gaming: Troubleshooting My New Build

I'm having some power issues with my new PC build and could really use some help. Here's what I put together:

- **Case:** Hyte y60
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- **CPU Cooler:** Peerless Assassin 120SE
- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte x870 Aorus Elite Wifi7 Ice
- **RAM:** Corsair 64GB 6000
- **PSU:** Corsair RM1200E
- **M.2:** Samsung 4TB 990 Pro
- **Graphics Card:** PNY 5080 16GB OC
- **OS:** Windows 11

Whenever I try to start up some games or watch videos, my PC shuts down suddenly. The case fans keep glowing, but nothing else seems to work. Even the power button doesn't respond; I have to flip the PSU switch to turn it off.

I checked temperatures, and nothing's overheating—CPU maxes at about 59°C, graphic card at 49°C. I unplugged and reset all the cables, and I've even swapped the graphics cards with my older build, which has a Gigabyte 3080. Since then, my older PC has been experiencing constant USB disconnection issues.

I suspect the new GPU might be the issue since the older computer doesn't have any problems with the 3080. However, I want to double-check before attempting to RMA the new card. Also, I updated my BIOS to the latest version, just in case that would help! Check out [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB_qSTB3pY0) for the issue I'm encountering.

I had a similar issue where my PC would shut down shortly after starting a game. I found out that my motherboard needed both an 8-pin and a 4-pin power connection for the CPU, but I had only connected the 8-pin. Once I connected both, the problem went away. Just a thought that might help you!

You might want to try connecting your graphics card directly to your power supply without using the PCIe riser cable for the vertical mount. Also, make sure you're using the right connections. Did your card come with the 12vhpwr connector? If you're using an adapter, that could be causing issues too. Let us know how it goes!

Got it! The PSU does have a 12vhpwr connector, so I used that initially. Then I tried an adapter to see if it made a difference, but still got the same shutdowns. I’ll go ahead and try without the riser and see if that helps!
