PC won’t boot after adding new RAM—need advice!

I recently installed two additional RAM sticks in my PC while it was still connected to power, although I did turn it off first. The new RAM matches the existing ones in specifications, but they have RGB lights while the others don't. My motherboard is an Asus X570-P. After putting in the new sticks, the PC started power cycling multiple times before I had to turn it off manually. Now when I try to turn it on, the motherboard lights and fans work, and the RGB RAM and GPU light up, but nothing shows on the screen. When I removed the new RAM, the same thing happened—still no display and the USB devices (mouse and keyboard) aren't lighting up either. I also tried resetting the CMOS but got the same result. Any help would be appreciated!

I've inserted RAM without disconnecting the power before and it usually doesn't cause any issues, so I wouldn't panic just yet! Since your lights are working and you're hearing fans, it sounds like some parts are getting power. Keep the new RAM out and focus on resetting the CMOS properly. If you leave it alone for a while, sometimes it can sort itself out. Good luck!

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm hopeful it might just need some memory training. I'll keep an eye on it for a bit.

First off, make sure to completely turn off your power supply and unplug it. Then, remove all RAM sticks and install just one of your original sticks in its original slot. Don’t forget to ensure your GPU is seated properly too. If that works, turn off the PC, add the second stick, and keep checking until you figure out which one’s causing the issue. You could also try different memory slots until something kicks in. Just go step by step!
