I'm helping a friend upgrade his family's computers, and while most of the upgrades went smoothly, his son's PC is giving me a real headache. It was functioning fine before we swapped out the GPU, but now it powers on without showing any display or even POSTing. I've already reset the RAM, CPU, and GPU, and tried starting with just the essentials—using the integrated GPU too—hoping to get some sort of display or at least see it POST. I've cleared the CMOS as well and even replaced the CPU since we discovered the old one had broken pins. Despite all of this, I'm still getting no output. The keyboard and mouse light up, but that's about it. Here's the hardware setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5500X
- Motherboard: ASROCK A520M HVS Micro ATX
- GPU: RTX 3060 ASUS ROGSTRIX
- PSU: 600W KRATOS M1
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
I'd really appreciate any tips or ideas—I've been stuck on this for a week!

Have you checked if the BIOS is updated on that motherboard before installing the Ryzen 5500X? Sometimes an outdated BIOS can cause these issues, especially with newer CPUs. It's worth checking out!

Yeah, my buddy didn't update it beforehand. I tried using the old GPU to update the BIOS, but now that's not displaying anything either—still getting no output.
