I'm upgrading my PC with a new CPU (switching from a Ryzen 5600x to a Ryzen 7600x3d), a new GPU (upgrading from a 3070 to a 9070xt), and a new motherboard (moving from a Gigabyte B550 AM4 to a Gigabyte B650 AM5). I plan to keep my current SSD. Do I need to do anything specific before installing the new parts? Should I move my important files to another drive and perform a clean install of the OS? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you're struggling to find DDR5, you might want to consider other options like a different CPU and motherboard combo that allows you to stick with DDR4. That could save you some cash if you're on a budget.
Make sure you get DDR5 RAM since your new motherboard requires it. DDR4 won't work at all. Also, check if your PSU can support the new GPU since the 9070xt is pretty powerful. You'll need to make sure everything is compatible before proceeding.
Totally agree, it's a key point to check before making any purchases!
Since you'll be using a new motherboard, it's a good idea to back up all your files and do a clean install of Windows. Check out this link on transferring your Windows license too because the new motherboard counts as a new PC. Pre-download the required drivers for both the Radeon and AMD chipset to make the installation smooth, and remember to disconnect from the internet during the initial Windows setup for better control over the process.
And don’t forget some thermal paste! I made that mistake once and it was such a hassle. Definitely grab that before you start assembling everything.

Exactly! Don't overlook the PSU compatibility; you'd be in a tough spot if it isn't sufficient!
