I'm building my first PC and initially thought about getting an RTX 5070, but it's way out of my budget at around $600. I'm now considering the RTX 4070 (12GB) and the RTX 5060 Ti. They both fit my budget of $300 - $500. If there weren't any GPU shortages, I would have definitely gone for the RTX 5070, but here we are! Which of these two options is better?

The RTX 5060 Ti is worth considering because it has 16GB of VRAM and supports DLSS 4, making it more future-proof. You might need to adjust settings for future titles, but it's a good option given your budget.
Honestly, check out some reviews before you decide. There are some great comparisons available on YouTube that could help you understand the performance differences better!
I’d recommend going for the RTX 4070. If you're willing to wait, you might find an RTX 5070 at MSRP around $550, which is about 25% faster than the 4070. But between the two you mentioned, the 4070 is a solid choice!
By the way, what CPU are you planning to pair with that? Just curious if you’re overspending on that and could adjust to get the 5070 instead.
I'm getting an i7 12700k, which is around $590. My total budget is $1000-$1200.
The RTX 4070 pulls an average of 84 FPS at 1440p, while the 5060 Ti (8GB) averages 76 FPS. For 1080p or 1440p gaming, I'd stick with the 4070. But if you're looking to game at 4K, the 5060 Ti with 16GB VRAM might be better since 12GB can fall short at that resolution.
I saw an RTX 5060 Ti for around $515, so I might lean that way instead!
