Setting Up MS Business Premium with BYOD: Is It Feasible?

Hey there! I'm new to this and have some questions about using MS Business Premium in conjunction with MS Intune for a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) setup. We want all team members to use their personal devices and upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. The idea is to have everyone under the MS Business Premium license and enrolled in Intune for better security and device management. Our plan includes allowing team members to log in to their laptops with company credentials, while also restricting certain apps and websites, and having the ability to wipe the device if it gets lost or compromised. I'm wondering if it's possible to enforce these policies without interfering with the user experience when they're logged in to their own personal Windows accounts? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's a bit tricky with personal devices. If an employee refuses to comply, you'll have a hard time enforcing company policies. If you're serious about data protection, you might need to consider providing dedicated company devices or a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

You might want to look into Windows 365 or similar VDI solutions. They could be your best bet if you're allowing team members to use their own devices.

Well, if you're thinking of managing personal devices, it's a tough situation. You can't really enforce policies on someone else's gear, and are you prepared to cover the cost for Windows 11 Pro upgrades on their personal machines? You can only control your company data and apps, not the whole device.

Thanks for clearing that up! We're a small team of 20, and a few of us already have Windows 11 Pro. We're willing to cover any necessary license upgrades.

If it’s their personal machine, you won't have the ability to manage it. The best approach is to provide corporate-owned devices or consider a VDI solution.
