I was laid off in April 2025 due to my skills not matching my previous company's tech stack. Since then, I've worked hard to improve my skill set and have learned the MERN stack, API optimization, RBAC, secure authentication, and cybersecurity. I've been job hunting and have gone through several interviews. Recently, I received an offer from a service-based company that matches my previous salary, which is acceptable for me. However, I'm concerned about their reputation—terrible reviews on naukri.com and other sites. The work schedule is demanding: Monday through Friday for 10 hours and Saturday for 6 hours. I'd be on a 6-month probation without paid leave, and they don't allow working from home. I even asked HR what happens if I'm sick, and she said I'd still need to complete my tasks. I've also read reports that they keep employees in the office until the work is done. Considering all of this, do you think I should take this job? I'm currently unemployed and have no other offers, and it might take a while to find another position. I'm really looking for solid advice!

I recommend skipping this offer. The conditions you described sound pretty bad, and it's likely to affect your well-being and job satisfaction in the long run. It's better to keep looking for a job with healthier working conditions, even if it takes time.
It seems like they're taking advantage of your situation. Those work hours are insane, and the no-leave policy is a huge red flag. If it were me, I'd try to hold out for something that respects your time and health more.
I appreciate your advice! It's tough out there, but I want to make the right choice.
Honestly, this job sounds pretty rough. Those hours are already a red flag for me. Working in such a toxic environment could prevent you from finding better options down the road. I think it’s worth holding out a bit longer for something better if you can manage it.
That's exactly what I've been feeling! I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on something that might help me get back on my feet.
Thanks for your insight! I was starting to doubt my instincts.
