Hey everyone! I'm starting grade 11 and will be diving into computer programming soon. I'm stuck trying to decide whether to purchase a tablet or a laptop. I found out from my research that tablets can be used for coding, but I'm still unsure. My mom is trying to save money and suggests a tablet, but I want to make sure I have the right tools for my studies. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

For real, just get a laptop. Tablets are best for consuming media, not for creating code. You can definitely find a good used laptop that won't break the bank.

If I choose a laptop, should I be looking for any specific storage capacity?

Honestly, go for a laptop. Tablet operating systems are quite limiting, especially for programming. They can work with a few extras, but you're better off just getting a laptop that can handle your coding needs without all that hassle.

Totally agree! Plus, a laptop usually gives you more specs for less money compared to a high-end tablet.

I wouldn't recommend a tablet for programming. They lack essential features like compilers and proper IDE support. It's kinda like trying to cook with flimsy utensils—sure, it’s possible, but it’s not effective and you’ll probably end up frustrated.
