Should I buy the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless without an S/PDIF output?

I came across a deal for an open box Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless headset and I'm considering it. However, I've read that my motherboard doesn't have an S/PDIF output. Should I still go for this headset, or is that a significant issue? If so, is there a way to resolve this problem? Honestly, I don't really understand what an S/PDIF output is.

Using the USB connection is totally fine! The optical audio was great for older setups since it let you connect a PS4 and listen to both your PC and PS4 simultaneously.

You can connect the transmitter or basestation to your PC using a USB cable. The optical input is mainly for consoles and allows for output to an external receiver too.
