Should I Choose 24GB or 32GB RAM for My Video Editing Build?

I'm putting together a high-performance video editing rig and I'm curious about RAM options. Is there a significant difference between using a 24GB RAM stick and going for 32GB sticks? I've noticed that for the super-fast (8000+) speeds from G.Skill, they only offer 24GB sticks. Also, does the speed really make a noticeable difference? I'm debating between 7600 and 8400 speeds. My workflow involves using Firefox, DaVinci Resolve, and Affinity Publisher/Designer all at once, plus a few other programs. Right now, I'm still deciding on specs and I'm considering around 64-128GB of RAM eventually. Any advice on this would be helpful!

I recommend aiming for a balance between stability and capacity rather than just speed. You might want to consider going with 6000MHz CL30 or 6400MHz CL32 modules. Trying to hit 8000MHz can often lead to system instability, which isn't ideal for video editing.

Exactly, stability is key! Getting the RAM to run at 8000MHz can be tricky, so I'd stick to the more stable options.

What would you suggest for someone who really needs reliability?

I'm working in a non-profit and need something that won't fail, but also not too weak.
