Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide between two monitors: the Koorui G2421V 24" 1440p 180hz IPS panel and the Koorui G2411P 24" 1080p 165hz IPS panel. The 1440p model costs $199 CAD, while the 1080p one is $149 CAD, so there's a $50 CAD difference. I mainly play competitive FPS games like Valorant, Apex Legends, and Marvel Rivals, but I also enjoy single-player games like Minecraft, God of War: Ragnarok, and Elden Ring. My main worry is whether using 1080p on the 1440p monitor for the FPS games would result in a poor visual experience, and if I should just stick with the dedicated 1080p monitor instead. Sorry if this is a silly question! Thanks in advance!

I'd say go for the 1440p monitor! The quality difference is usually noticeable. However, since you'll primarily be gaming at 1080p for FPS games, keep in mind that 1080p can look worse on a 1440p screen than on a native 1080p monitor. But if you’re okay with the occasional drop in quality for competitive play, the 1440p monitor still might be a great choice for your single-player games.
Does the size matter when switching resolutions? Like, will 1080p look bad on a 1440p 24in monitor compared to a bigger one?
