Hey everyone! I'm currently using Linux Mint on my ASUS ROG Zephyrus laptop, but I'm looking to switch things up after running into some issues with a service using distrobox and systemctl. My laptop has been overheating and acting up with Windows, so I'm ready to leave that behind.
The official support for fan control and RGB on my model is pretty much nonexistent. I tried installing the asus-linux package via Podman on Mint, but it didn't go well. I really want to try a different distribution since I'm not a fan of Cinnamon, and I need something that won't keep my laptop sounding like a jet engine when I'm just browsing the web.
I'm considering Arch, Fedora, or even Steam OS, aiming to get rid of both Mint and Windows. I think Steam OS is cool for the future as I may want to turn my laptop into a mini gaming console, but I'm concerned about fan and RGB support since I've heard it's lacking.
