Should I choose RTX 4060 Ti 16GB or RTX 5060 Ti 8GB for my new build?

I'm planning to upgrade my GPU from a 1050 Ti, and I'm considering either the RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of memory or the RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB. My CPU will be a Ryzen 5 7600X. The 4060 Ti is priced at around 500€ while the 5060 Ti 16GB is also about 500€ (though I'm a bit unsure about the Zotac brand). The 5060 Ti 8GB option is available for around 400€. I initially thought of going for the base RTX 4060 8GB at 300€, but now that I can extend my budget, I'm feeling uncertain. I'm worried about potential CPU bottlenecking if I opt for a more powerful GPU. Any thoughts on what I should do? Also, I'm considering waiting for the RTX 5060, which releases shortly after my purchase window, but I'm hesitant to gamble on availability and discounts.

Honestly, I think you should wait for a model with a better memory bus. The 5060 Ti has a pretty limited 128-bit memory bus, which can bottleneck the performance despite having 8GB of VRAM. I'd recommend saving up for something that offers at least a 192-bit to 256-bit bus and a minimum of 12GB VRAM for better future-proofing. It might be worth holding off a bit longer if you can!

Gotcha! So you think neither of the current options would be enough to let me avoid a CPU bottleneck?

Where are you based? The 5060 Ti 16GB usually goes for around 450€, which might be a better deal for you. Prices can vary a lot depending on where you live!

I’m in Spain too and I totally agree, prices here can be really crazy sometimes.
