I'm putting together a gaming build and need some final advice on whether to go for the RX 9060 8GB or the RTX 5060. I'm mainly looking to play Dying Light 2 and possibly Dying Light: The Beast in the near future. My goal is to achieve a playable frame rate on Ultra Ray Tracing at 1080p for Dying Light 2. Which card would give me the best experience?

If ray tracing is a priority, Nvidia is your best bet. But I'd still recommend looking for the RX 9060 XT 16GB if you can squeeze it into your budget. Eight gigs might leave you wanting down the line, and a little extra cash up front could save you headaches later.

Ray tracing is demanding, and neither card is going to make it a breeze, especially at ultra settings. The RTX 5060 can use DLSS to help, but overall, I wouldn't expect stellar performance from either. Just be ready for some compromises.

The RX 9060 XT is slightly faster in Dying Light 2, but be careful with the 8GB VRAM. Hitting that limit can cause stutters, especially with background apps running. You might want to consider upgrading to something with more VRAM if you can.

I'd lean towards the RTX 5060. It generally performs better in ray tracing scenarios, and if you're set on playing at ultra settings, it might give you that edge you're looking for.

The RX 9060 XT with 16GB is usually priced similarly to the 8GB RTX 5060 lately. If you find that option, go for it—that'll outperform the 5060 easily. Otherwise, stick with the 5060.
