I'm currently gaming at 1080p and I prioritize having the highest settings and visual fidelity rather than bumping up the resolution. My current graphics card is the RTX 2080 (not the Super or Ti), and I'm finding that it struggles with the latest titles like Mafia: Old Country and Dragons Dogma 2, especially when trying to keep my frame rate at 60fps.
I'm looking for a GPU that will allow me to enjoy the latest Nvidia technologies, though I'm aware that future developments could change things. I'm based in the UK, and I've recently realized that I miscalculated the prices— the 5070 is about $650 equivalent while the 5060 Ti with 16GB is around $560. I'm a fan of Nvidia but I'm also open to considering AMD if needed. Thanks for any advice!

I hear you! I upgraded from an RX6800, which is pretty much on par with the 2080, and I found that upgrading my monitor made a bigger difference than just the GPU. If you’re looking for durability, I'd suggest going for the 5060 Ti with 16GB VRAM for the long haul. Even at 4K, it performs well, though you might not get the max settings for ray tracing. The 5070 is a tempting immediate boost, but its 12GB RAM could limit you in the future, especially with the new console generation coming up. TL;DR: 5060 Ti for future-proofing, 5070 for immediate gain but with some risk.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like balancing future-proofing with current performance is the key here.
