Do I Need GoDaddy’s Commerce Plan for My E-Commerce Website?

I'm building a website and planning to set up an e-commerce site. Since I registered my domain with GoDaddy, I'm unsure if I need to buy their commerce plan. Is it possible for me to skip that plan, get a separate hosting service, and use WordPress with an e-commerce plugin instead?

No, you don’t need GoDaddy’s commerce plan! Your domain and hosting are two different things. You can keep your domain with GoDaddy and point it to any other host you prefer. Using WordPress with something like WooCommerce is a great way to get started, and it’s usually cheaper in the long run.

Exactly! You can handle everything without GoDaddy's extra costs. Just get your hosting sorted out, and you're good to go.

You definitely don't have to buy their commerce plan. Just make sure you find a decent hosting service that supports e-commerce—WordPress and WooCommerce are popular choices. Also, check renewal prices when you're shopping for hosting, as they can be tricky!

Honestly, I’d advise against using GoDaddy. There are way better options out there for hosting and services. Just because they spend big on ads doesn’t mean they provide good support or quality.

Yeah, avoid GoDaddy for hosting if you can. They're fine for domain registration, but when it comes to hosting, look elsewhere for better service and reliability.
