Should I choose the 5070 or 3090 GPU?

I'm trying to decide between getting a used 5070 or 3090, since they are priced the same in the second-hand market. I know the 3090 has a lot more VRAM at 24GB, but I'm not sure I'll actually need all that for my gaming setup. I've heard mixed opinions online about the 5070 being a lesser choice and some people suggesting AMD GPUs, but I'm not comfortable with AMD's drivers and I prefer Nvidia's technology. I'd really appreciate some advice on which one to pick!

Go for the 5070! It offers better performance overall and has support for new tech, plus it's future-proof compared to the 3090. With the latter's inflated price, it just doesn’t seem worth it.

The real standout feature of the 5070 is its frame generation, which significantly boosts performance in games. I've got the 5070 Ti and it's been fantastic, delivering solid frame rates even at 4K. If you can swing the 5070 Ti in your budget, that's definitely a solid choice!

The 3090's price is kind of inflated because of its VRAM, which is mainly sought after for non-gaming tasks. The 5070 actually performs similarly, but it's more efficient and comes with new tech that enhances your gaming experience. It seems silly to buy a 5-year-old card that costs the same as a current-gen one. Consider the 4070 Ti or 4080, too!

Honestly, if you're not gaming at 4K and don't need extra VRAM for things like AI, just go for the 5070. It's the newer model, and you'll get benefits like a full warranty and better features such as frame generation.

Don't be too afraid of AMD drivers! They're not as tricky as you might think. But if you're set on Nvidia, I'd still lean towards the 5070 since it has better features and support.
