I'm building my first PC in years and trying to decide between the 5070 Ti and the 5080. They seem to perform similarly, but I want to ensure I'm making the right choice. I'm willing to spend an extra 300€ for the 5080 if it's worth it and more future-proof. I'm even considering overclocking. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you’re looking to overclock, the 5080 could give you more performance gains. But if that’s not your plan, the 5070 Ti will do just fine, especially for 1440p gaming.
If you can afford it, I’d definitely go for the 5080. In the long run, the additional 300€ is minor compared to how long you’ll likely use the card—5 years or more. You probably won’t regret spending the extra cash.
If your budget is around 1.8k, the 5070 Ti might be a better choice since the performance difference isn’t major.
Many people say the 5070 Ti is a better value since the performance difference is only about 10-15%, which doesn’t justify the 300€ premium. Save that cash for future upgrades instead.
It really depends on your overall PC budget. If you’re spending around 1500€, the 5070 Ti is a solid choice. But if your budget’s closer to 2500€, the 5080 makes more sense to fully utilize that investment.
My budget is about 1700-1800€. I was thinking about pairing either with a Ryzen 7700X and a decent motherboard.
Honestly, I’d go with the 5070 Ti unless you find the 5080 at a significantly discounted price. The performance uplift isn’t really worth the extra cost, and both cards will likely age similarly.

Many folks argue that the 5070 Ti is better value, but if you have the budget for the 5080, it makes sense to get it for the longer-term usage.
