Should I Choose the 5800XT or 5700X3D for Development and Multitasking?

I'm looking to upgrade from my Ryzen 3600X to a better AM4 CPU. I've read that the 5700X3D tends to win thanks to its 3D cache, but I'm really interested in how it performs in real-world scenarios. I plan to multitask with virtual machines, work on ComfyUI workflows, manage servers, and so on. Just to clarify, I'm not looking to switch to AM5 just yet. I'm also thinking about increasing my DDR4 RAM from 32GB to 64GB. My GPU is currently a 5070Ti. I've also considered the 5900X and 5950X, but the price-to-performance ratio seems off. I'm hoping to hear from others who are in a similar situation and aren't focused on gaming.

Don't overlook the 16-core 5900X; it's a great value. That said, the 5800XT has higher clock speeds and might outperform the 5700X3D in most productivity tasks.

Yeah, that’s my concern. The 5900X is around $270 on Newegg, while I can grab the 5800XT for about $160.

The X3D chips have their biggest advantages in gaming scenarios, but if you're focused on development and multitasking, the 5800XT might actually serve you better for non-gaming tasks.
