Should I Choose the i5-12600KF or Ryzen 5 7600X for My Upgrade?

I'm planning to upgrade from my i5-9600K and I'm torn between the i5-12600KF and the Ryzen 5 7600X. The 12600KF with a B760 DDR4 motherboard is significantly cheaper, totaling around $235 since I can reuse my RAM. On the other hand, the 7600X with a B650 motherboard and DDR5 memory would set me back about $370. I mainly play CPU-intensive games like Arc Raiders with a RTX 3060. Is it worth spending the extra money on the 7600X or is the 12600KF a more sensible choice?

Absolutely consider the i5-14600K if you can stretch your budget a bit. It might be pricier right now, but during Black Friday sales, I've seen it go as low as $165!

If you want to save cash, definitely go for the 12600KF. It's a solid CPU and performance-wise, it's pretty close to the 7600X. Plus, being able to reuse your RAM really helps your budget!

Exactly! The 12600KF should give you good performance and last a while, especially if you're playing CPU-heavy games.

I'd recommend the 12600KF too, especially since RAM prices are pretty high right now. You can always upgrade to AM5 in the future without breaking the bank.

Just a heads up, if you're in the US, I've noticed a Gigabyte B650M motherboard on sale for $110 at Newegg, and it even comes with 16GB of DDR5!

Oh, that's a great deal! Glad you found that.
