Should I choose the RTX 5090 or stick with the 5080 for my new build?

I'm planning a high-end PC build featuring a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but I'm torn between getting the RTX 5080 for €1250 or the RTX 5090 for €2450. Upgrading to the 5090 would mean an extra €1200 overall, and I want this setup to last me about 6-7 years without needing a new PC. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether the 5090 is worth the extra investment or if I should save the money and go with the 5080 instead.

I'd advise getting the 5080 instead. Save the money for a future upgrade in a few years. The 5090 might not be the best long-term option for 4K gaming over seven years.

Exactly! Plus, selling a 5090 later could be easier since it has 32GB VRAM.

If your budget allows, go for the 5090! You’ll get around 35% more performance compared to the 5080. Just make sure it aligns with your gaming needs.
