I've built my gaming PC nearly two years ago and haven't cleaned it since. I know it's typically recommended to clean it yearly, but I'm wondering if I should address this right away or if I'm just overthinking it. My temperatures are still fine, similar to when I first built it, but I haven't checked inside for dust in a while.
The last time I had an issue, my motherboard unexpectedly died, which led to a lengthy RMA process of about five months. During that time, somehow one of the GPU locks snapped off. My GPU is functioning correctly and the PC performs as usual, but I'm a bit paranoid that if I move it too much, it might fail.
Do I need to be concerned about dust build-up? Since my temperatures are okay, does that mean it's not urgent?

You might actually risk damaging components more when cleaning than if you just left the dust alone. But it’s best to be cautious and clean it. Just ensure you’re grounded to avoid static discharge!
Definitely a good idea to clean your PC. Dust can accumulate and cause overheating issues, but if you're not experiencing any temperature problems, you might be okay for now. Just keep an eye on it! Also, what case do you have? Some have better airflow than others, making them less prone to dust build-up.
There's no immediate need to worry, as long as your temps are in check. But it’s good to clean the components every now and then to avoid potential issues down the road. Dust can cause components to heat up more than usual over time, especially in humid conditions, which might shorten their lifespan.
Honestly, if you're really stressed about it, just pop the case open and give it a quick dusting. I tend to leave my PCs for years without a clean and they still run fine—I've got some servers just sitting there, covered in dust! But, regular cleaning is always a good practice.

Thanks! I’ll consider just a quick clean, then.
