Should I Clone My Drive or Go for a Clean Install?

I'm looking to upgrade my old HDD to a new NVMe SSD that's already installed in my M.2 slot. My plan was to clone everything from the HDD to the SSD and then use the SSD as my main drive. However, I'm unsure if this is the best approach. I've heard from some folks that doing a clean install is preferable for better performance. My biggest concern is losing my game save files since I've invested a lot of time into those. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the best route to take!

I think cloning it first is a fair approach. If things don’t work out as you want, you can always wipe the drive and do a clean install later.
