Hey everyone! I have an HP OMEN 880 with a DDR4 motherboard and currently have four RAM sticks installed. The original two sticks are rated at 2133 MHz, while the two I added are capable of reaching 3600 MHz. However, I've noticed that all the RAM is only running at 2133 MHz in Task Manager. Is this due to the slower RAM sticks? Would it be worth it to remove them to maximize the speed of the 3600 MHz sticks?

You’ll need to overclock your RAM to utilize the 3600 MHz. Your CPU defaults to a JEDEC speed of 2133 MHz, so make sure your motherboard supports overclocking options like XMP.
I'd say ditch the slower RAM and possibly sell it. If you need more capacity, consider getting newer frequency RAM for the other slots.
Yes, typically the CPU will run the RAM at the lowest speed to ensure stability. It really comes down to whether you prefer having more RAM or faster speeds.
If you remove the slower sticks and still find that the speed is capped at 2133 MHz, it might be because you need RAM that's compatible with a higher standard speed. Prebuilt PCs usually do not support overclocking like XMP, which could be the issue here.
Yes, when using different speeds, the memory runs at the slowest speed. If you decide to remove the old sticks, just ensure the new ones are installed in the right slots on the motherboard.
