I've been saving for a whole year and finally amassed €5000 for my first PC. I'm really torn between buying a pre-built system and building one myself. The pre-built option tempts me but it's about €700 more expensive than building it. I'm particularly worried about assembling the PC myself since I don't want to risk damaging any pricey components like the RTX 5090. Any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

I was worried about building my first PC too, but I went for it, and now I'm putting together my second one! Just plan carefully, and you’ll figure it out once you get all the parts in hand. Good luck!
Honestly, if you're asking here, you probably already know you want to build it! It's not as daunting as it seems—just take your time and follow a guide. Plus, if you run into any issues, this community is super helpful!
Totally agree! Just ask if you need any help, and you'll learn a lot in the process.
Just watch a few assembly videos and dive in! I did it at 13, so you can definitely handle it!
Building your own PC can be a great experience. I built mine last year, and even though it was scary at first, having control over the parts and knowing how everything fits together was totally worth it. I used a PC builder tool to ensure compatibility and watched some assembly videos. I even ended up fixing my CPU when it failed a few months later, which I felt much more confident doing because I built it myself!
That makes me feel a bit better! I still worry about messing something up, though.
It really isn't hard if you take your time! I started by upgrading a pre-built PC, which gave me confidence before changing motherboards. Just remember, help is easy to find—there are tons of videos and resources available these days. If you're nervous, you could also buy the parts and bring them to a shop; some places might let you watch while they assemble it for you!
That's actually a great idea! I had someone else put mine together, and while I don't regret it, I do wish I had built it myself.
I think I'll go that route and see how it goes.
Please keep us updated! I'm excited to hear how it turns out!
