I'm looking to upgrade my PC gradually. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 1600x, an ASUS PRIME A320M-K motherboard, 16 GB of DDR4-2666 RAM, an ASUS Radeon RX 580 8GB, and some storage drives. I'm planning to do this upgrade step by step, starting with the CPU and motherboard, followed by the GPU, RAM, and an M.2 SSD. My main question is whether I should stick with an AM4 platform using a B550 motherboard and Ryzen 5 5600 (which allows for potential upgrades to Ryzen 7 or 9 later) or switch to the newer AM5 platform with a B650 motherboard and Ryzen 5 8400F (which would require DDR5 RAM). As a side note, I'm considering upgrading my GPU from my RX 580 to a 1660 Super first, then possibly a 3060. Ultimately, I want to achieve stable 144+ FPS in League of Legends, while also being able to play games like PUBG, Cyberpunk, and GTA 5. Thanks for your help!

If you're getting a new motherboard anyway, I'd definitely go for AM5. It will give you a clear upgrade path for the future.
