I'm looking to upgrade my current GPU, which is a 1660 Super. I found a brand new 4060 Ti 8GB for $250 and I want to see if it's a good choice. I'm mainly aiming to play the latest Battlefield that suggests a 3060 Ti with 8GB, and I'm also looking forward to eventually playing GTA VI. I want to know if getting an 8GB card is a bad idea nowadays. On the other hand, there's also a 5070 available for $550. Is the extra cost for the 5070 worth it? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

In the long run, I suggest waiting for newer models like the 5070 Ti if you're looking for something that lasts. 12GB should be the baseline these days. But if you need a card right now, that 4060 Ti deal isn’t bad at all. All depends on your priorities!
The 5070 is better but don’t forget the price difference. If you’re aiming to play newer games on ultra settings down the line, yeah, go for the 5070. But if you're okay with 1080p and don't mind upgrading again soon, grab that 4060 and enjoy your gaming!
True, but $250 is such a good deal for a new GPU—hard to pass up.
Honestly, for $250, the 4060 Ti 8GB is a steal! It's significantly faster than the older models and can handle 1080p at high settings without a hitch. If you're keeping things at 1080p, it should work fine for you. Just keep in mind that if you're planning on moving to 1440p later, you might want to consider a 12GB option instead, but for now, this is a great pick!
Exactly! And if you find you need more power later, you can always sell the 4060 and upgrade then.
Yeah, plus the price reflects a good deal. You can pretty much treat it as a temporary card until something better comes along!
I'd lean towards the 5070 12GB if you're planning to keep the card for a while. It's definitely more future-proof, especially with upcoming games. For the price difference, it’s worth investing in something that won’t be outdated as quickly. 12GB should be the sweet spot for the next few years.
If you're not gaming at 4K, the 4060 Ti should serve you well for now. Plus, 8GB is still decent for most current titles at 1080p. But just be aware that as new games come out, they might start needing more VRAM, so keep your options open.
Yeah, and honestly, you can’t go wrong with either card, it just depends on your budget and plans.
