Hey everyone! I'm 17 and recently my GPU, a 1050 Ti, died on me. I use my PC a lot, so I really need to upgrade in a bit of a hurry. I'm considering the 5060 Ti since it fits my budget and still allows me a little leftover cash for other things, like my driver's license. I could technically go for a 5070, but that would leave me pretty strapped for cash. I've heard mixed reviews about the 5060 Ti, including that AMD might offer better performance for the price. I've never used an AMD GPU, so I'm not familiar with them. I'm looking for something that will hold me over for the next few years until I can invest in a high-end option. What do you all think? Is the 5060 Ti a good choice for me, or should I explore AMD options? Thanks in advance!

If you're really unsure about spending so much, maybe check the used market. You might find a good deal on previous generation cards that won't break the bank and still give you a solid upgrade!
Make sure to go for the version with 16GB of VRAM if you're getting the 5060 Ti. It'll be great for gaming at 1080p and even 1440p. Plus, it comes packed with Nvidia features like DLSS and multi-frame generation, which really enhance performance. If you're tight on budget now, the 5060 Ti is definitely a solid choice! And if you want to make the most of your setup, consider upgrading your monitor too—pairing it with a good 1440p screen could give you a much better experience than a 5070 with a 1080p monitor.
Right? The DLSS stuff might get flack, but it actually works really well in practice!
Totally agree! If your FPS is high enough, those features are a game-changer for smooth gameplay.
I recently bought the 5060 Ti and I'm really happy with it. I can play games at 1440p on ultra settings with no issues! Honestly, if the 5070 would leave you broke, it’s not worth the extra cash for a slightly better performance right now. Focus on what you can comfortably afford and enjoy the upgrade from your old system!
Sounds like a great upgrade! I might follow this advice too.
Exactly! At this stage, both options are better than the 1050 Ti.
Important to consider the CPU you're using! If it's old like the 1050 Ti, it might bottleneck the 5060 Ti's performance. But if you're okay with upgrading the CPU later, just grab the GPU for now—it's a huge upgrade from what you had.
Yeah, I wouldn’t stress too much about the CPU just yet. Just getting a better GPU will improve your gaming for sure!
If it fits the budget, go for the RX 9060 XT 16GB instead. It usually costs less than the 5060 Ti but provides similar performance. Just make sure not to get the 8GB version, as it won't hold up as well over time. AMD cards are a real contender right now!
That's interesting! I’ve seen the price differences vary, so it's smart to check your local market.
Definitely a smart move! Sometimes you'll get lucky and find a gem.
