Should I Include Fake Projects on My Resume While Grinding Leetcode?

I'm considering putting some fake projects on my resume, except for one genuine project, while I focus on improving my skills with Leetcode. Is this a good approach for landing a job, especially at startups or mid-level companies? I feel confident that I can explain the projects well, even if they're not real. It's just that I struggle to create larger projects by myself.

Instead of fake projects, try having a GitHub account where you actually showcase your code and skills. Leetcode is great for some companies, but a lot of startups focus more on real projects. So invest your time in creating something real that you can talk about!

If you’re thinking of using someone else’s project, remember that it’s really about putting in the effort. Don’t you want to feel proud of what you present? Building something real, even if it's just a small project, will be much more beneficial than any fake ones.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend faking any projects on your resume. If a hiring manager digs deeper and checks your GitHub, you could be in a tough spot. Plus, it’s best to show genuine work even if it's small—it reflects your real skills and learning process.

I think it’s possible to get away with a bit of Leetcode prep for entry-level roles, but you really don’t need to grind hard for it. Spend a couple of months studying and just a little consistent practice after that. Focus on building a strong project instead—it’ll pay off more.
