I'm planning to install Arch Linux and I'm torn between using the installer that's included with it or following the installation guide manually. What do you all think is the best approach for a beginner like me?

Using the installer might seem easier, but if you're treating Arch as a learning experience, you'll benefit from the manual installation process. Trust me, diving into the Arch Wiki and tackling the installation step-by-step is worth it. Plus, you'll get a deeper understanding of how Arch works.

I'd definitely recommend going through the installation guide manually. You'll learn a lot about your system this way, and it helps with future troubleshooting. Sure, the installer can get you up and running faster, but nothing beats the experience you gain from doing it yourself!

At the end of the day, it all comes down to your comfort level and hardware. If you feel up to the challenge, go for the manual install and embrace the learning curve. If not, the archinstall script is a decent fallback. Just remember, both methods will teach you important lessons. It's your choice!
