I'm considering switching from Windows 10 to a lighter Linux distribution for my slow laptop, which has a 4GB RAM and an Intel Celeron M3060 processor (1.60GHz) along with a modest graphics card. The storage is decent at 466GB. Given the limitations of my hardware, would it make sense to install either Linux Mint XFCE or Zorin OS? I also need to know if there are likely to be issues with connecting HDMI and speakers, as they're important to me.

Definitely go for Linux Mint XFCE! It's lightweight and should run smoothly on your system. If you're looking for alternatives, you might also want to check out Linux Lite or MX Linux. Both can perform well on lower-spec machines.
Thanks! I think I’ll start with Linux Mint XFCE. If I run into any issues, at least I'll have more solutions available.
